LeTourneau Completes Three-Game Baseball Sweep

Longview, Texas- LeTourneau University took a three-game series from the Eagles over the weekend in American Southwest Conference baseball action.
    
LeTourneau (15-15, 13-11 ASC) edged Ozarks (10-29, 5-23 ASC) 4-3 in extra innings on Friday night and then proceeded to win game one Saturday 8-0 and game two 14-4.

On Friday night, LeTourneau scratched across the game-winning run on a bases loaded walk in the tenth. Ozarks led 3-1 after four innings, but LeTourneau responded with two runs in the fifth to even the contest 3-3. The Eagles then went scoreless the rest of the game. Starting pitcher John Singler (3-5) lasted the entire game, throwing 9 .1 innings. He struck out four and issued three walks. Patrick Clifford and Taylor Parker each went 2-for-4 at the plate for Ozarks.

On Saturday, starting LeTourneau pitcher Jordan Carns threw a five-hit shutout to help the YellowJackets to a 8-0 win in game one. Carns struck out six and stranded nine base runners. Andrew Beck went 2-for-4 for Ozarks. Jordan Allred (0-1) received the loss as the starter.

In the nightcap Saturday, Ozarks held a 4-1 lead after three innings only to have LeTourneau score four runs in the fourth and nine runs in the sixth. In the third, Sam Shook, Jacob Smith and Singler each had RBI. Shook paced Ozarks with a 3-for-3 performance. Keaton Ramsey (2-2) suffered the loss as the starter.
