GAME ONE
Overview:
Starting pitcher Dalton Spurgeon threw a three-hit complete game to lead the Eagles to a 6-0 shutout win in game one Friday. The Eagles opened the game with two runs, highlighted by an RBI triple from Erick Aguirre. The Crusaders managed little against the dominant 6-foot-5 right-hander from Missouri. Spurgeon pitched a hitless second, fourth, fifth and seventh inning to keep the shutout intact. Spurgeon mowed down five Crusader batters in the seven-inning outing. It was his first shutout of the season. The Eagles provided a steady dose of run support for Spurgeon throughout the game. Three Eagles had multiple-hit games. Spurgeon faced 27 batters, struck out five and walked three.

GAME TWO
Overview: Fielder Dufrene brought in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to push the Eagles to a 7-5 win. Rocky Liveoak add an RBI single up the middle to provide an insurance run in the tenth. Following a double steal by Rey Lozano and Josh Stephens to put both in scoring position, Dufrene lofted a ball to left field to plate the decisive run. The Eagles were tied with the Crusaders after five complete innings, but took a 5-3 advantage in the top of the seventh. Chase Edwards and Zach Stanley drove in back-to-back runs with bases loaded walks. The Crusaders scored once in the bottom of the seventh and again in the ninth on a two-out single. Liveoak had three hits. Corey Steward received the win in relief. Tyler Vernon closed out the game to pick up a save.
