Chase Edwards Named To Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

University of the Ozarks baseball star Chase Edwards was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team, it was announced Thursday (May 9).

Clarksville, Ark. – University of the Ozarks baseball star Chase Edwards was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team, it was announced Thursday (May 9).

Edwards, a junior designated hitter from Chandler, Ariz., recently earned All-Conference First Team honors for the Eagles. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Edwards ranked among the American Southwest Conference's top-10 in batting (.382), slugging percentage (.625), RBI (41) and home runs (9). The left-handed hitting Edwards produced 55 hits, including eight doubles, and 90 total bases. He owned a .451 on-base percentage. He hit safely in 27 games.

A Business Administration major, he is a two-time member of the ASC All-Academic Team and a two-time All-Conference performer. 

The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Baseball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.  First-Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for their career.
