Edwards Adds Another Award To His Resume

The Eagles opened the 2019 ASC season with a split against ETBU.

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks designated hitter Chase Edwards earned his second All-Region honor of the season with a spot on the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-West Second Team, the organization announced Tuesday (May 28).

This season the junior slugger has earned All-Conference, D3Baseball.com All-Region and Google Cloud Academic All-District in addition to his most recent ABCA/Rawlings honor. Edwards proved to be a tough out at the plate hitting .382 on the year, which ranked among the highest in the American Southwest Conference. The Chandler, Arizona, native posted a .625 slugging percentage while driving in 41 runs. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Edwards hit safely in 27 games against some of the top pitching in NCAA III. Edwards produced 55 hits, including eight doubles and nine home runs, and totaled 90 total bases. He finished the 2019 season with a .451 on-base percentage. 

The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee.
