Men’s Basketball Team Edges Centenary College

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's basketball team hit a number of clutch free throws with less than one minute in the game to edge Centenary College 92-86 Thursday night in non-conference action.

Ozarks (4-0) roared out to a 20-4 lead in the first half and held a 47-43 advantage at intermission. Josh Berard poured in 24 first half points and made all ten free throw attempts. The two teams then battled back and forth early in the second half, but Centenary (2-4) was able to take a narrow lead with eight minutes remaining. Josh Ferrell drilled a three-pointer at the 3:29 mark to give Ozarks a 81-75 lead. Centenary's James Sapp then hit four straight free throws to even the contest at 84-84 with one minute left. But Ozarks hit 8-of-10 down the stretch to take the lead back for good. Jace Richardson made six straight during that stretch.

Berard ended with 31 points. Richardson added 17 points, while Dylan Gray had 14 and Ferrell scored 12 points, all on three-pointers.
