20-0 Second Half Run Fuels Eagles To Win

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's basketball team opened the second half on a 20-0 run to earn a 94-87 win over UT-Tyler Thursday in American Southwest Conference play.

In the second half, the Eagles (8-16, 2-13 ASC) exploded for baskets in a variety of ways to overcome a first half deficit. Jace Richardson and Josh Ferrell hit back-to-back three-pointers to open the second half, and then Pete Barber hit another shot from long-range to push Ozarks within 53-48 at the 17:30 mark. Ricky Scott's layup evened the game 53-53 and Josh Berard's inside shot at the 14:52 mark gave Ozarks a lead. The Patriots (15-9, 8-7 ASC) fought back to take an advantage of their own, but Ozarks rode the hot hand of Berard. Berard scored 25 second half points, including six straight in a two-minute span. After the Patriots closed the gap to 87-85 with 2:04 remaining in the game, Berard made a jumper and hit two free throws to give the Eagles a 91-85 lead.
    
The Eagles hit 54 percent from the field in the game, while UT-Tyler made 45 percent of its shots.

Berard went 13-of-20 to score 34 points. Richardson added 20 points. Dylan Gray had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Ozarks will host LeTourneau University in its final game of the season and Senior Day will be held prior to the game.
