Blake Arbogast Named Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach

Clarksville, Ark.-Blake Arbogast was named the new assistant men's basketball coach at the University of the Ozarks, it was announced Friday (June 2) by Athletics Director Jimmy Clark.
    
Arbogast, a native of Burkburnett, Texas, played at American Southwest Conference (ASC) member Howard Payne University for four years (2011-15) and served as a graduate assistant there during the 2015-16 season. Most recently, he was the assistant basketball coach at Holiday High School (Texas) during the 2016-17 season, while also assisting with volleyball and baseball.

"I'm very excited Blake Arbogast has joined our program," said head coach Travis Carruthers. "I had the pleasure of working with him in at Howard Payne and we developed a great relationship. His ability to connect with players, his selflessness, and passion for learning set him apart. He will, undoubtedly, make a positive impact on the program from the day he steps onto campus."

Arbogast was a three-year captain at Howard Payne, a member of the ASC All-Academic Team and helped the program to a post-season appearance. Additionally, he won the Paul J. Cunningham Memorial Award, given to a student-athlete who represents the highest qualities of a student and an athlete.

He earned a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science from Howard Payne in 2015.
