THE BASICS
Hendrix College led 36-27 at the half and then held on in the second half for a 70-65 win Tuesday night. The Eagles out scored Hendrix 38-34 in the second half, but could never take the lead.  The Eagles got close on a couple of occasions in the second half, including one with under a minute to play. Cordy Winston hit a three-pointer at the midway point of the second half to cut the deficit to 49-45. With Hendrix leading 68-62, Ethan Bowman drilled a three-pointer with 21 seconds left to make it 68-65. But Hendrix would hit two free throws on its next possession.
