THE BASICS
The Eagles used a big first half effort to capture a 94-81 win over McMurry University Monday night. The Eagles hit 55 percent from the floor and got 11 points from Zach Bobo and 10 points from Lance Gardner in the first half. The Eagles opened the game on a 19-5 run. The Eagles built a 66-48 lead on Skyler Barnes' three-pointer with 11:35 remaining, but the War Hawks chiseled into the advantage and cut it to 67-59. The War Hawks later cut it to five points, but the Eagles responded with 23 points in the final seven minutes to secure the game. Kelvin Knight scored six points during that span and finished with a team-high 18. Knight went 7-of-8 from the field in the game. Bobo finished with 17 points and Ethan Bowman added 15. Gardner added 11 points.
