THE BASICS

Ethan Bowman hit seven three-pointers, a record in the Nebraska Wesleyan University Snyder Classic Friday night, but it wouldn't be enough as the No. 8 NWU Prairie Wolves took a 95-70 win. The Eagles trailed 38-27 at halftime behind Bowman's 13 points and Zach Bobo's 11 points. Bowman had four three-pointers in the first half. The Eagles held a brief lead at the midway point of the first half, but Nebraska Wesleyan had a 34-24 lead at the 4:19 mark. The Eagles fought back and got a clutch three late from Cordy Winston to pull within 38-37 at the half. The Prairie Wolves opened the second half with a 17-2 run to take momentum of the game and the Eagles never recovered. Both teams shot over 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from the three-point line and 80 percent from the free throw line in the game. Bowman finished with 22 points.
