THE BASICS

The Eagles took control of the final five minutes of the game to pull out a 75-67 win against Concordia University Texas Saturday. The Eagles trailed 62-60 at the 5:10 mark of the second half, but went on a 15-5 run to finish out the game. Cordy Winston started the burst with a pair of free throws and then followed with a jump shot on the Eagles next possession. Tim Turpin then nailed a three-pointer to put the Eagles in control the rest of the way. Winston posted a team-best 21 points and hit 8-of-8 from the free throw line. Cory Wilhelm and Bryson Johnson both had 14 points and six rebounds. Turpin finished with 11 points.
