THE BASICS
A strong night from the free throw line helped LeTourneau University put away the Eagles 86-69 in conference play Thursday in Texas. The YellowJackets hit 17-of-20 from the free throw line to secure the game. LeTourneau led 40-36 at halftime and maintained a double digit lead for the first ten minutes of the second half before the Eagles rallied. Tim Turpin drilled a three-pointer at the 8:55 mark to pull the Eagles within 60-55. Another three from James Helzer made it 62-58, but the Eagles scored just four points over the next four minutes. The Eagles went to the free throw line eight times. Jacobe Davis led the team with 20 points.
