THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles took care of business at home Thursday afternoon earning a 86-80 win over conference opponent Belhaven University. The Eagles cruised to a 46-29 halftime lead to control the game. Grayson Nix paced the Eagles with 13 first half points. In the second half, Kamren Roelke made a basket to give the Eagles their largest lead of the game, 55-31. Belhaven later went on a run to chip away and climbed within ten points at the 9:03 mark. The Blazers did eventually cut it to single digits and pulled within six points with 4:53 left. Kyron Powell sank a pair of clutch free throws with ten seconds remaining to give the Eagles a 85-80 advantage. The Eagles spread the offensive production around as Nix, Roelke, Xavier Gaffney and Ray Fresh all reached double figures in scoring. Nix nearly recorded a triple-double with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Fresh came off the bench to score 11 points. Roelke had 19 points and four three-pointers while Gaffney added ten points. The Eagles shot a solid 13-of-29 (44%) from the three-point line.
