Clay Target Team Competes In Wichita State Classic

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks women's and men's clay target team competed in the Wichita State University Shocker Classic September 9-10 in Valley Center, Kansas.
    
In Class AA Skeet, John Wagner shot a 95 to lead the team. In the Class A division, Jeff Proctor was the team's top finisher scoring a 90. In Class B, John Guthrie scored a 76 to lead the team and in Class C Tristian Leonard shot a 76 to lead the team. On the women's side, Grace Brown shot a team-best 84 in Skeet. As a team, Ozarks finished fifth overall with a score of 468.

In Trap, Regan Puryear and Bailey Wilson led the team with a score of 98 in Class AA. In Class A, Proctor posted a team-high 98. In Class B, Guthrie had a team-high 93. Leonard was the team's top shooter in Class C with 91. In women's Trap, Taylor Holland scored a team-high 96. Ozarks finished fourth overall in Trap with 487 points.

In Sporting Clays, Mason Dobbs paced the team with a score of 83 in the Class AA division. In Class A, Dustin Robertson had a team-best score of 85. In Class B, Derrick McKee scored a 67 to lead the team. In Class C, Leonard posted a 69 to lead the team. On the women's side, Brown had a 79 to lead Ozarks in women's Sporting Clays. Ozarks finished fourth overall in Sporting Clays.

In the Class AA High Overall Standings, Dobbs and Wagner posted a score of 266 to lead the team. In Class A High Overall Standings, Protor had a score of 269 to lead the team in that division as well as overall. In Class B High Overall Standings, McKee had a 218. In Class C High Overall Standings, Leonard had a 236 to lead the team. Brown had the team's top score in the women's High Overall Standings with a 253.

Ozarks will host the U of O Shoot-A-Thon September 18, 20 and 22.
