Bryce Young’s Hat Trick Guides Ozarks Past Louisiana College

Clarksville, Ark.-Bryce Young recorded a hat trick Thursday in a 7-0 American Southwest Conference win over Louisiana College.

Young, a junior forward, not only had a hat trick, but he did within the first 15 minutes of the match. Daniel Valencia helped Young with a pair of great passes on his first two goals. Young scored in the 2nd minute and 13th minute thanks to Valencia. Young then added his third goal of the match in the 14th minute on a pass from Johnson Cijulus. Young now has 11 goals this season.

Bradley Rice would score the final goal of the half to make it 4-0. Thomas Mills scored twice in the second half and Stewart Mena found the net as well. Mills' first goal came on a header from Mena. Ozarks (9-2-2, 3-2-1 ASC) posted 27 shots and 13 corner kicks in the match.  Luis Mena notched his third shutout of the season. Mena had a spectacular leaping save in the 51st minute to keep the Wildcats (0-13-0, 0-7-0 ASC) off the board.

Ozarks will host Belhaven University October 15 for Homecoming and Alumni Weekend. A tailgate picnic is planned for 12:30 p.m., with the women's match to start at 1:00 p.m. The University athletic department will also honor a veteran as part of the Wounded Warrior Project.
