Bryce Young Scores Game-Winning Overtime Goal

Clarksville, Ark.-Bryce Young scored the game-winning goal in the 94th minute to secure a 4-3 overtime win over Mary Hardin-Baylor Thursday in American Southwest Conference play.

The Eagles (10-4-3, 4-3-2 ASC) were in control of the match early scoring three goals within the first 17 minutes to overwhelm the Crusaders (10-5-1, 6-2-1 ASC). Alex Ross scored back-to-back goals, one in the 8th minute and another in the 10th minute, to establish momentum. Matt Samaniego then added a goal in the 17th minute to put Ozarks in front 3-0. The Crusaders were on the attack throughout the first half despite the deficit and eventually scored just seconds before the first half closed out.
    
With a 3-1 lead, the Eagles gave up another goal in the 54th minute. The visitors scored again in the 78th minute to even the contest 3-3. Ozarks was unable to answer with a goal in the second half, but Young finished the match off with a timely goal in the first overtime. Mary Hardin-Baylor held a 18-7 shots advantage and a 12-1 corner kicks advantage.

Ozarks will end the regular season this Saturday at home against Concordia University Texas. Saturday's match will also serve as "Senior Day" for the women's and men's soccer programs. A ceremony will be held following the women's match.
