Men's Soccer Team Eliminated From PlayoffsNovember 04, 2017Belton, TexasThe Eagles were eliminated from the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Saturday with a 4-0 loss against nationally-ranked University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The No. 18 Cru scored three times in the first half to set the match's tone. In front of its home crowd, the Cru scored in the 15th minute and then added another in the 24th minute to put Ozarks in a quick 2-0 deficit. The Eagles had trouble recovering from a third goal in the 33rd minute. Ozarks created a number of shots early in the second half, but couldn't find the back of the net. The Eagles end the season with a 9-7-2 overall record under second-year head coach Aaron Brueckner and advanced the postseason for the 15th time.

Garcia Nets Game-Winner; Eagles Advance To Semi-FinalsNovember 02, 2017The Eagles advanced to the semi-finals of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Concordia University Texas. Ozarks will face host institution Mary Hardin-Baylor Saturday at 11:00 a.m. The Eagles controlled the match for most of the first half, and then got the game-winning goal in the 50th on Sean Garcia's shot. Johnson Cijulus received the assist. It was Garcia's first game-winning goal of the season. Freshman goalkeeper Logan Valestin made five saves and recorded his seventh shutout on the year.

Belhaven Upends Men's Soccer TeamOctober 28, 2017Jackson, Miss.-Belhaven upended the Eagles 3-2 with another late goal. This time it came in the 82nd minute with the scored tied 2-2. Matt Samaniego scored first for Ozarks with a goal in the 6th minute. Belhaven evened the match with a goal in the 33rd minute to head into halftime 1-1. Spence Jean Baptiste put the Eagles in front 2-1 in the 57th minute, but Belhaven answered with a goal in the 66th minute. The Blazers eventually scored the game-winner and then held off Ozarks late.

Men's Soccer Team Edges Louisiana College 1-0October 26, 2017Pineville, La.-Johnson Cijulus provided the Eagles with the heroics late in the match with a game-winner to push Ozarks to a 1-0 win over Louisiana College. Cijulus posted his game-winner in the 73rd minute and Ozarks' defense then cruised to keep the shutout. Cijulus beat the keeper one-on-one to net his second game-winner of the season. Logan Valestin recorded his sixth shutout of the season.

Early Second Half Goal Lifts Texas-Tyler Over EaglesOctober 20, 2017Tyler-Texas-A Texas-Tyler goal in the opening minute of the second half gave the Patriots the game's momentum and allowed the home team to secure a 2-0 win over the Eagles. After a scoreless first half, the Patriots scored just seconds into the second half and then posted another goal in the 87th minute to put the match away.

Men's Soccer Team Blanks Hendrix 3-0October 17, 2017Conway, Ark.-The Eagles posted their fifth shutout of the season with a 3-0 win over Hendrix College. Johnson Cijulus set the tone early with a goal in the 4th minute. Spence Jean Baptiste added another goal in the first half to give Ozarks a 2-0 advantage at halftime. Dan Cruz added to the lead with a goal in the 50th minute.

Men's Soccer Team Ties ETBU 2-2October 14, 2017Clarksville, Ark.- The Eagles held a 2-1 advantage late in the match only to have East Texas Baptist even the score in the 87th minute and send the game into overtime. In the overtime, the Tigers outshot the Eagles 4-1. The Tigers scored early in the match, but Ozarks responded with a goal in the 42nd minute from Miguel Reyes. Michael Luster later gave Ozarks a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 76th minute. The Tigers' goal in the 87th minute was from a PK.

Four Inducted Into Sports Hall of FameOctober 13, 2017Clarksville, Ark.-Baseball star Steve Higgins, accomplished athletic trainer Don Kessler, championship football coach George Loss and soccer star Lindy Swatzell Mantooth were inducted into the University of the Ozarks Sports Hall of Fame October 13 at a ceremony in the Rogers Conference Center.

Men's Soccer Team Ties LeTourneau 2-2October 12, 2017Clarksville, Ark.-LeTourneau University overcame a 2-0 second half deficit to finish with a 2-2 draw Thursday. The YellowJackets scored twice with less than 20 minutes remaining in the match. The YellowJackets' second goal came in the 88th minute off a free kick. Ozarks seemed in control most of the match netting a goal in the 11th minute and then adding a goal in the 58th minute to hold a 2-0 advantage.

Samaniego Does It Again With Game-WinnerSeptember 30, 2017Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles have clearly turned the corner after starting conference play 0-3-0. Now, the Eagles have won three straight conference matches and have momentum on its side. The Eagles grinded out a 1-0 win over rival Hardin-Simmons University behind a header from Matt Samaniego in the 87th minute. Thomas Ross set up the goal with a beautiful pass off a free kick. Samaniego seems to be in the right place at the right time as he has connected on game-winners in two of the last three matches. During the Eagles three-game stretch, Ozarks has posted shutouts.

Samaniego Comes Through With Game-Winning GoalSeptember 23, 2017Clarksville, Ark.-Matt Samaniego came through with a game-winning goal in the 53rd minute to help the Eagles halt a three-game losing streak. Samaniego's goal came off a free kick. The Eagles fought off 15 first half shots with goalkeeper Logan Valestin recording six saves in the first 45 minutes.

Mary Hardin-Baylor Edges Eagles In OvertimeSeptember 21, 2017Clarksville, Ark.-Mary Hardin-Baylor (6-1-0, 3-0-0 ASC) scored the game-winning goal in the 97th minute to hand the Eagles a 2-1 overtime loss. The Crusaders recorded 24 shots in the match, while Ozarks had three. Mike Luster scored for the Eagles in the 64th minute to tie the match. Ozarks falls to 3-4-0 overall and 0-3-0 in conference play.

The Comets scored the game-winning goal in the 63rd minute. Ozarks had its scoring opportunities in the match, but came up empty. Matt Samaniego just missed a goal in the 81st minute as Comet goalkeeper Chase Therrien made a clutch save.
