  • Season Ends For Men's Soccer Team In ASC Playoffs

    Clarksville, Ark.-Despite recording nine shots on frame, tallying seven corner kicks and outshooting East Texas Baptist University 19-7, the Eagles were eliminated from the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament behind the Tigers' game-winning goal in the 82nd minute. With a 1-0 lead, the Tigers kept the Eagles from scoring in the final minutes to secure a victory. Spence Jean Baptiste had a final shot with five seconds remaining, but goalkeeper Bryant Botello made a clean save to preserve the match. At moments, it looked as though the Eagles would break open the match and score several goals. However, the Tigers were able to keep the shutout. Michael Luster put himself in scoring position on numerous occasions, but couldn't find the back of the net. Luster hit a shot that bounced off the cross bar in the 12th minute. His shot went high a minute later. In the second half, the Eagles' defense knocked a loose ball away off a corner kick in the 75th minute. Five minutes later, defender Truman Hensley stopped a Tiger offensive attack by sealing off the offensive player. The Eagles forced Botello into nine saves.
  • Eagles Take Care Of Louisiana College, Await Playoff Seeding

    Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles took care of business Saturday, capturing a 3-0 win over Louisiana College on Homecoming and Senior Day. In an electric atmosphere, the Eagles provided the fans with plenty of highlights, scoring once in the first half and two more times in the second half. The Eagles now await playoff seeding expected to be announced later tonight. Richard Souffrant opened the scoring for the Eagles, netting a goal in the 17th minute on a beautiful header off a corner kick. Hometown Clarksville native Rigo Resendez scored in the 67th minute and Alex Ross finalized the scoring with a goal in the 77th minute. The Eagles limited Louisiana College to four shots, while generating 17 of their own. Logan Valestin recorded three saves to post a shutout in goal.

  • Eagles' Offense Flexes Muscles In 6-3 Win

    It didn't take long for the Eagles to show their offensive prowess against Belhaven. Michael Luster scored in the opening minute of the match, and then the Eagles added two more goals within the first 11 minutes to lead 3-0. Alex Ross, Miguel Reyes and Rigo Resendez all had goals in the first half, and Spence Jean Baptiste recorded three assists. The Eagles would total 13 shots in the first half. The Eagles continued to overwhelm Belhaven, as Reyes scored another goal to move ahead 5-0. Sean Garcia's header in the 77th minute capped the scoring. The Eagles finished with 18 shots, with 12 shots on frame. The win extends the Eagles unbeaten streak to seven.
  • Michael Luster's Late Goal Nets Tie

    Clarksville, Ark.-Michael Luster struck again for the Eagles. This time the senior took a deflected shot from Spence Jean Baptiste in the box and ripped the ball past the UT-Tyler goalkeeper with just 1:45 remaining to tie the match. In overtime, the Eagles totaled three shots, but couldn't connect. The Patriots took a 2-0 advantage, scoring in the 5th and 16th minutes. The Eagles responded with a goal in the 42nd minute when Lorfils Milord netted a shot in the box. Miguel Reyes received the assist. From there, the Eagles shut out the Patriots and then Luster provided his athletic goal to send the match into overtime. Logan Valestin recorded several outstanding saves and totaled eight. The Patriots had 12 shots, while the Eagles had nine. The Patriots had seven corner kicks to three for the Eagles.
  • Eagles Claim 3-0 Win Over Hendrix Behind Strong Second Half

    Clarksville, Ark.-After a scoreless first half, the Eagles scored three second half goals to claim a 3-0 non-conference win over Hendrix College Tuesday. The Eagles took control of the match in the second half, recording nine shots and five corner kicks. The Eagles pressured the Hendrix defense the entire second half and eventually broke through with a goal in the 72nd minute. Drew Mott scored to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage. Bryce Young followed with a goal just minutes later and Sean Garcia connected on a penalty kick in the 88th minute to round out the scoring. The Eagles totaled 13 shots. It was Logan Valestin's first shutout of the season. He had three saves.
  • Alex Ross Nets Two Goals In 3-1 Win

    Longview, Texas-The Eagles netted a big 3-1 comeback road win against LeTourneau University behind a two-goal effort from Alex Ross. LeTourneau scored with just seconds left in the first half to claim a 1-0 advantage. But the Eagles generated three second half goals. Ross scored in the 51st minute and then followed with another goal in the 81st minute to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead. Spence Jean Baptiste added the final goal in the 83rd minute to put the match out of reach. Thomas Ross, Michael Luster, Miguel Reyes and Baptiste recorded assists.
  • Men's Soccer Team Fights Back Late, Ends In 3-3 Tie

    Marshall, Texas- Just when it appeared the Eagles were out of the game, Richard Souffrant scored back-to-back goals late in the second half to send the match into overtime and eventually finish with a 3-3 double overtime tie against East Texas Baptist University. Thursday night's conference match had plenty of drama as both teams had chances to score in each overtime. Michael Luster scored the match's first goal in the 9th minute. The Tigers responded with a goal in the 23rd minute to even it. The Tigers would score another goal just before halftime to move ahead 2-1. The Eagles gave up a goal early in the second half to give the Tigers all the momentum. Down 3-1 with 20 minutes to play, Souffrant netted a goal in the 83rd minute. Souffrant wasn't done as he quickly scored the equalizer two minutes later. From there, the match went into overtime. Both teams fired off three shots in the first overtime and the Eagles had two more chances in the second overtime, but came up empty. In all, both teams had 19 shots. Luster had five shots to lead the Eagles. Logan Valestin had 10 saves in goal.

    Clarksville, Ark.-Richard Souffrant and Alex Ross scored in an impressive first half for the Eagles and then held off Sul Ross State in the second half to pick up a 2-1 win. The Eagles had a dominating first half recording 12 shots and five corner kicks. Souffrant scored in the 5th minute on a header off a corner kick. Ross then scored in the 28th minute to give the Eagles a 2-0 advantage. From there, the Eagles kept the Lobos off the board until the 77th minute. The Eagles finished the match with 15 shots and eight corner kicks.
  • Alex Ross Nets Hat Trick In Win

    Clarksville, Ark.-Alex Ross recorded a hat trick to lead the Eagles to a 7-0 win over Ecclesia College Tuesday. His brother, Thomas Ross, accounted for a goal and two assists as the duo combined for ten points. Drew Mott scored his first collegiate goal and the Ross brothers each scored in the first half to help the Eagles build a 3-0 lead. Alex Ross then added quick back-to-back goals early in the second half to net his hat trick. Bradley Rice and Derric Davis added goals in the second half. The Eagles had 32 shots in the match. Jordan Maloney got his first start in goal for the Eagles and posted a shutout.
  • McMurry Men's Soccer Team Slips Past Eagles

    Abilene, Texas-McMurry University posted the game-winning goal in the second half to record a 1-0 win. McMurry's Aaron Webb scored off a free kick in the 60th minute. The Warhawks then held off the Eagles the rest of the way to notch a shutout. The Eagles did record four shots after the goal was scored. The Eagles owned a 13-9 shots advantage in the match. Logan Valestin posted five saves in goal.
  • Eagles Escape With 2-1 Win

    Abilene, Texas-The Eagles escaped Hardin-Simmons with a 2-1 win after the Cowboys notched an own goal in the 83rd minute Thursday night. The Eagles played a strong match, outshooting the home team 17-12. The Eagles scored first when Spence Jean Baptist back-heeled a shot in the 25th minute. Thomas Ross headed the ball prior to the shot to receive an assist. The Cowboys then evened the match 1-1 in the 43rd minute. A back-and-forth second half ensued until the Eagles were rewarded a corner kick. Following a number of deflections, the ball ended up in the back of the net. A final shot for the Cowboys with just seconds left sailed wide. Ross and Miguel Reyes had four shots each. Goalkeeper Logan Valestin posted four saves. After a tough start, the Eagles have won two straight conference matches.
  • Michael Luster Nets Game-Winner In Upset Win

    Clarksville, Ark.-Michael Luster had a match to remember Saturday as the senior from Lewisville, Texas, headed in the game-winning goal in the 88th minute to help the Eagles pull out a 3-2 upset win against No. 13 Mary Hardin-Baylor. Luster’s goal sent the Eagles’ bench into a frenzy and capped a hard-fought match in rainy conditions. Luster had a beautiful goal in the 40th minute ripping a shot past goalkeeper Travis Aday with his left foot. Alex Ross received the assist. The Crusaders scored back-to-back goals within a ten-minute span to take the advantage, but the Eagles never lost fight in the second half. Bradley Rice scored the equalizer on a header off a set piece from Thomas Ross. Luster then posted the game-winner in traffic on a perfect pass from Alex Ross. The Eagles edged the Crusaders in shots (11-10), but both teams had equal shots on frame with eight.
