THE BASICS
Birmingham-Southern's Ryo Elliot headed in the game-winning goal in the 96th minute to hand the Eagles a 2-1 setback in the Birmingham-Southern Labor Day Classic Sunday. The Panthers scored in the 23rd minute on a penalty kick. But the Eagles fought back to even the match 1-1 when Bryce Young connected on a header in the 25th minute. Spence Jean Baptiste had the assist. The Eagles outshot the Panthers 19-12 in the match. Miguel Reyes had four shots and Drew Mott recorded three. Logan Valestin posted five saves in goal.
