Drew Mott Honored By United Soccer Coaches

Drew Mott was named All-Region.

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks sophomore midfielder Drew Mott has been named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-South Region Third Team, the organization announced Monday 9 (Dec. 2).

Mott, a 5-foot-8, 165-pound native of Arlington, Texas, earned a spot on the All-ASC First Team, led the team to the playoffs, and helped the Eagles post their seventh straight winning season. A team captain this season, Mott finished third in the conference in shots (56), points (21) and assists (5). He tied for the league-lead in game-winning goals with four. With eight goals, he ranked fourth in the conference. A starter in all 19 matches, Mott led the team in goals, assists, points and game-winning goals (tie). He made both of his penalty kick attempts during the season. He had a two-goal performance against Nebraska Wesleyan. He was named ASC Player of the Week once during the season after scoring one goal and tallying four assists over two matches.

"I'm very happy that Drew received this award," said head coach Aaron Brueckner. "He deserves this type of regional recognition.  His overall play was exceptional, but I'm most proud of his leadership and influence on the team. All the success he has had and will have is because of the consistent work ethic and dedication to the team." 

He is a graduate of James Martin High School where he was named All-District and helped his team win the Area Championship.

The men's soccer program has had sixteen players earn USC All-Region honors in its history.
