Men's Swim Team Dominates Williams Baptist College

The men's swim team posted a big 147-30 win over Williams Baptist College.

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's swim team posted an impressive 147-30 win over Williams Baptist College Friday night.

Several program records were broken at the dual meet. The 200-yard medley relay of Jacob Toland, Michael Walkine, Josh Collins and Jacob Jones teamed up for a record time of 1:43.11. Joel Coppernoll set a new school 1,000-yard freestyle record posting a 10:37.34. Collins broke the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.37 and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.52. Jones had a record time of 50.00 in the 100-yard freestyle. In another record, Walkine, Jones, Toland and Collins had a time of 1:33.50 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. In addition to aforementioned records, Jones won the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.78) event, Nicolas White won the 200-yard IM (2:19.85), Coppernoll won the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.19), Jones won the 500-yard freestyle (5:14.12) and Walkine won the 100-yard breastroke (1:08.25).

"We posted a lot of best times tonight and numerous school records went down," said head coach David DeGeus. "It was great work by all of the Eagles. I commend Coach Moore on his program and the process of building a new team. We had several close and exciting races. We still have a lot of work to do."
