Jones Wins Two Individual Races In Hendrix College Dual

Jacob Jones set a new school record in the 500 free.

Clarksville, Ark.-Hendrix College took a 105-83 win over the men's swim team Saturday.

In the 200 medley relay, the team of Nicolas White, Nicolas Dunsworth, Gustavo Almaraz and Daniel Lopez posted a time of 1:54.66 for second place. White won the 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:46.0. Almaraz was third with a time of 22:32.27. In the 200 freestyle, Jacob Jones was first with a time of 1:49.73. Michael Vargas was fifth with a time of 2:24.05 and Stephen Eyma was sixth with a time of 3:31.40. In the 50 freestyle, Josh Collins placed second with a time of 23.19. Nicolai Van Zyl was fourth with a time of 23.60. Bailey Butler and Jaeden Miller were sixth and seventh, respectively. Dunsworth placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:21.34. Lopez was fourth with a time of 2:41.28. Collins placed second in the 100 butterfly swimming a 54.81. Almaraz was fourth with a time of 1:08.78. Jones won the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.17. Van Zyl was fourth with a time of 52.53 and Eyma was sixth with a time of 1:23.19. The Eagles had three place in the 100 backstroke – Michael Walkine (3rd, 1:06.69), Butler (4th, 1:10.14) and Vargas (5th, 1:10.66). In the 500 freestyle, White placed third with a time of 5:29.84. Miller was fourth with a time of 8:32.75. In the 100 breast stroke, Walkine (1:06.84) placed second, Dunsworth (1:09.61) placed third and Lopez (1:18.74) placed fifth. The team of Collins, Walkine, Van Zyl and Jones won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:32.11. Vargas, Miller, Butler and Eyma swam a 2:05.50 for third place.
