Men's Tennis Drops John Brown Match In Fall Opener

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's tennis team dropped its opening fall match of the season 7-2 against John Brown University Saturday.

With new head coach Jeff Kutac at the helm, the Eagles posted wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, and nearly picked up a win at the No. 2 position. John Brown swept doubles action to make it tough for a comeback.

Melle Van Duijn defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1 position. Jonah Martinez had a 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 3 position for the Eagles. Nathan Kuykendall from John Brown slipped past Jordan King at the No. 2 spot.

Ozarks will compete in the Collin College Open October 13-14 in Texas.
