Men’s Tennis Team Cruises To 6-3 Win Over Centenary

Clarksville, Ark.- The University of the Ozarks men's tennis team opened the day against Centenary College with an impressive 3-0 start in doubles and then went on to handle the Gents 6-3 Wednesday afternoon.

At No. 1 doubles, Melle Van Duijn and Spencer Turner took a 8-2 win over Louis Cossart and Corey Nobles. At No. 2 doubles, Jonah Martinez and Cole Lankford defeated Richard Legendre and Henry Lachappelle 8-1, and at the No. 3 position Reid Birch and Bryce Johnson won 8-3 over Max Wamsley and Kevin Le. The 3-0 doubles sweep set the stage for singles play in which the Eagles (6-9) won at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 to secure the match.
    
Alex Torbey defeated Kevin Le 6-2, 7-5 at No. 3 singles. Johnson won 6-1, 6-3 over Richard Legendre at the No. 4 position. And Walker Murray posted a 6-3, 6-0 win over Henry Lachappelle at No. 5.

Centenary falls to 4-11 overall.

The Eagles will host Louisiana College April 14.
