Men's Tennis Team Goes 1-1 In Conway

Melle Van Duijn helped the Eagles to a 9-0 win over Hendrix College.

The men's tennis team went 1-1 in Conway against Hendrix College and John Brown University February 16.

The Eagles cruised past Hendrix 9-0, but dropped a 7-2 decision against John Brown. Against Hendrix, Melle Van Duijn and Jonah Martinez posted a 8-5 win at the No. 1 position. Cole Lankford and Reid Birch had a 8-1 win at No. 2. Bryant Cason and Bryce Johnson won 8-5 at No. 3. In No. 1 singles, Melle Van Duijn earned a 6-0, 6-1 win over Luke Lefler. Jonah Martinez defeated Nathan Hudson 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2. Bryce Johnson won 6-2, 6-3 against Henry Dana at the No. 3 position. Cole Lankford defeated Mohammad Ali 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4. Bryant Cason won 6-2, 5-7, 10-5 against Parker Work at No. 5. John Chimpoulis won 6-4, 6-1 against Andrew Eveld at the No. 6 spot.

Against John Brown, Melle Van Duijn defeated Nathan Kuykendall 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 at No. 1 singles. Cole Lankford won 7-5, 6-1 against Cade Cox at the No. 2 spot.

The Eagles will travel to Abilene, Texas, for matches against Hardin-Simmons, Howard Payne and McMurry February 22-24.
