Men’s Tennis Team Tops Mary Hardin-Baylor On Texas Trip

The Eagles captured a 7-2 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's tennis team went to Texas for three matches in the Dallas area over the weekend.

The Eagles posted a 7-2 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor Friday and then took a narrow 5-4 loss later in the afternoon. The Eagles opened conference play with a 9-0 loss against UT Dallas Saturday.
      
Against Mary Hardin-Baylor, TJ Saniseng and Scott Stewart had a 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Nico Castells and Dallas Elmore won their No. 3 doubles match 8-3. In singles play, Aaron Gambrell won 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot. Saniseng won 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 3. Castells also won 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot. Stewart won 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 5 position, and Elmore won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6.

Against Austin College, Elmore and Castells teamed for a 8-5 win in No. 2 doubles. Parker Moray and Mason Williams won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles. Stewart posted a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles. Masahiro Takechi won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.

Against UT Dallas, the Eagles had a tough match to open conference play.
