Cross Country Runners To Compete In NCAA III Regional

The Eagles will compete in the NCAA Regional Saturday.

Runners from the women's and men's cross country program will compete in the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional November 10 in Mount Berry, Georgia.

Ten runners from University of the Ozarks will compete in the NCAA III Regional hosted by Berry College. Senior Hannah Smith, senior Chauzney Hooks and freshman Silvia Chavez will represent Ozarks in the women's 6K race. Sophomores Nathaneal Rankin, Dakota Fritts, Luis Garcia, Juan Sanchez, Jaeden Miller, Michael Harris and Edwin Rivera will compete in the men's 8K.

The top-35 runners will receive All-Region honors. The regional is also a chance for individual runners to qualify for nationals November 17 in Wisconsin. The top two team finishers along with the top-seven individuals at the South/Southeast Regionals advance to the NCAA Division III National Championships.


The women's race starts at 10:00 a.m. and the men's race will begin at 11:15 a.m.

The men's team finished fourth at the ASC Championships, with Rankin and Harris finishing second and fourth. The women placed eighth with Smith finishing third and Chavez  placing 31st.
