Clarksville, Ark.- 38 University of the Ozarks student-athletes have been named to the 2018 Fall American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team, it was announced by the league office February 2.
To be eligible for ASC Academic All-Conference honors, student-athletes must be classified academically as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student during the competition season and have been in attendance and completed at least one academic year (two consecutive semesters) at their institution. They must also have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as certified at the conclusion of the academic semester in which the ASC sport championship is held.
The women's cross country team had three athletes on the team: Chauzney Hooks, a senior business administration major from Texarkana, Texas; Areli Moreno, a sophomore health science major from Katy, Texas; and Hannah Smith, a senior accounting major from Blue Eye, Mo.
The men's cross country team had nine athletes on the team: Petron Brown, a sophomore environmental studies/business administration major from Nassau, Bahamas; Luis Garcia, a sophomore business administration major from Clarksville, Ark.; Michael Harris, a sophomore health science major from Elkins, Ark.; Jaeden Miller, a sophomore biology/education major from Canyon, Texas; Nathaneal Rankin, a sophomore undeclared major from Plano, Texas; Juan Sanchez, a sophomore biology/business administration from Springdale, Ark.; Chandler Stewart, a sophomore chemistry major from Siloam Springs, Ark.; Rhett Williamson, a sophomore English major from Green Forrest, Ark.; and Jonathon Wood, a junior health science major from Berryville, Ark.
