Eagles Hold On For 6-5 Win To Sweep Series

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles held on for a 6-5 victory over Concordia University Texas in game three of its American Southwest Conference series to complete a sweep this weekend.

Ozarks (11-25, 11-19 ASC) held a 6-1 lead after five innings, but Concordia (8-32, 5-25 ASC) battled back and evenuatually put the winning run in scoring position. Before that though Ozarks controlled the game as it scored three runs in the fourth. Hailie Tolich, Brooke Hoffsommer and Haleigh Moore each drove in runs in the fourth. The Eagles followed with another three runs in the bottom of the fifth to extend the lead to 6-1. Hannah Oler and Laken Gray had RBI in the frame. In the top of the seventh, Concordia made things interesting as it posted three straight singles with one out to score two runs and trim the deficit to 6-4. Concordia then had another RBI single to make it 6-5. With Abby Mork in the circle and two outs, Concordia grounded out for the third out.

Moore, Tolich and Hoffsommer combined for six of Ozarks' eight hits.

Hannah Oler (5-8) tossed five innings as the starter to receive the win. Mork received the save, her first of the year.
