Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks softball team let a 4-3 lead after five innings slip away as Louisiana College held on for a 5-4 game three win Saturday to complete a weekend sweep.
The Eagles (2-4, 2-4 ASC) held a 3-2 advantage after two complete innings behind a two-run second. Sydney Key doubled in Hailie Tolich and Katie Ventress. Key would eventually score on an error, giving Ozarks a one-run lead. Louisiana College evened the game in the top of the fourth, but Ozarks responded with a run in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead back. In the fifth, Hannah Oler produced a sacrifice fly to score Brooklyn Keeling. From there, the Wildcats (8-2, 5-1 ASC) generated a run in the sixth and a run in the seventh.
Ozarks recorded seven hits, while Louisiana College had nine. Ventress had two hits.
Ozarks will travel to Alpine, Texas to face Sul Ross State February 24-25.
