Concordia Softball Team Takes Friday Twinbill

Austin, Texas-Concordia University Texas posted a 5-0 shutout and a 7-5 win to take a twinbill Friday against the Eagles in American Southwest Conference play.

Ozarks (6-30, 4-28 ASC) will end the season tomorrow with a single game at 12:00 p.m.

In game one, the Eagles collected only two hits against starter Shelby Burrus. Concordia (18-21, 11-18 ASC) scored in the first four innings.

In game two, Ozarks scored first when Krysten Shavers recorded an RBI off a fielder's choice. Concordia then responded with two runs in the second. Concordia would score a decisive five runs in the fifth inning to hold a 7-1 lead. But the Eagles wouldn't go down easily, plating four runs on five hits in the seventh. Sydney Key singled in a pair of runs to mount the rally. Savannah Burkhalter drew a bases loaded walk for another run. Kayla Gray followed with an RBI single to pull the Eagles within 7-5. Gray went 2-for-3.
