GAME ONE

Overview: With the game one hanging in the balance, Cheyanna Miller came through with a clutch two-out infield single in the sixth inning to drive in the game-winning run and push the Eagles past Hendrix College 4-3. The Eagles drilled three runs in the first inning all coming from Paige Lee's first collegiate home run. Lee sent a shot over the left field fence to score Sydney Key and Taylor Teague. Hendrix got two runs back in the top of the second, but starting pitcher Jaela Martin kept the Warriors off the board in the third, fourth and fifth innings. Hendrix managed a run in the sixth, but the Eagles played small ball in the bottom half of the frame to produce the game-winner. Lee singled to open the rally and Riki Haase followed with a sacrifice bunt to advance the runner. Another sacrifice bunt placed Lee on third base with two outs. Miller then provided the heroics with a bloop single on the left side of the infield to push across Lee. Relief pitcher Candace Rogers then closed the door on Hendrix forcing a pop out, strike out and ground out to secure the win. Lee finished 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and Rogers received the win.

Overview: Eagles' starting pitcher Abby Mork held off a seventh inning Hendrix rally to seal a narrow 2-1 win in game two. Mork dominated the Hendrix batters throughout the game, but did have to work out of a jam in the final frame. Trailing 2-0, Hendrix was able to string together back-to-back doubles to score a run. Mork fought through one run and forced two straight easy infield pop outs to end the rally. The Eagles posted one run in the first on a sacrifice fly from Key. In the fifth, Hailey Ostrander recorded an infield single to drive in Alexis Holt. Meanwhile, Mork allowed just four hits through six complete innings.
