Davis Powers Lady Eagles To Win

Clarksville, Ark.-Senior forward Kindra Davis scored 30 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to power the Lady Eagles to a 94-71 win over Sul Ross State Thursday in American Southwest Conference play.
    
Davis connected on 12-of-14 shots from the field and 6-of-7 from the free throw line in the best game of her career. On the defensive end, she pulled down 18 rebounds alone. She had a double-double at halftime and Ozarks (7-13, 6-11 ASC) led 46-35.
    
Davis wasn't the only Lady Eagle that had an outstanding game. Ashley Hipps scored 23 points and dished out seven assists. She hit 3-of-5 from the three-point line in the contest.
    
Ozarks built a 28-10 lead at the midway point of the first half, but Sul Ross State (1-19, 0-17 ASC) trimmed the deficit to 36-26 with 3:41 remaining and then cut it to six points two minutes later. But Davis was unstoppable in the second half scoring 18 points and helping Ozarks hit 57 percent from the field. Her layup at the 7:41 mark extended Ozarks lead to 69-55. Another layup with 5:02 remaining put the Lady Eagles in front 79-61. 
    
Sul Ross shot 83 times and Ozarks recorded 62 rebounds in the game.
    
Taylor Farmer scored 13 points.
      
Ozarks will host Howard Payne University Saturday.
