Hipps Scores Game-Winner With 3 Seconds Left

Clarksville, Ark.-Sophomore guard Ashley Hipps saved her best for last as she dribbled the entire length of the floor and made the game-winning layup with 3.7 seconds remaining to push the Lady Eagles to a thrilling 56-53 win over Concordia University Texas Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.

Hipps weaved her way through and around defenders to complete an impressive comeback victory for Ozarks (9-14, 8-12 ASC). Hipps, who was 0-for-11 from the field prior to the game-winner, was also fouled on the play and then calmly sank the free throw to give the Lady Eagles a 56-53 advantage. Hipps' play wasn't the only dramatic game-changer of the contest. Freshman Bryanna Moltz drilled a deep three-pointer with nine seconds left to tie the contest, 53-53. Ozarks trailed 53-48 with only 53 ticks on the clock, but Kindra Davis hit an inside shot and the Lady Eagles were able to get the ball back trailing by three points. Concordia University Texas (10-13, 8-12 ASC) led 29-28 at the half, but ended with a shocking loss, and are now tied with Ozarks with a 8-12 conference record.

Davis pulled down a dominating 15 rebounds on her own "Senior Day".  Jordana Andrews had 12 points and Moltz finished with 11 points.

Ozarks will travel to Clinton, Mississippi to face Mississippi College February 20 and Pineville, Louisiana, to face Louisiana College February 22.
