Mary Hardin-Baylor Picks Up 85-57 Win Over Lady Eagles

Belton, Texas-Mary Hardin-Baylor allowed the Lady Eagles to hold the lead just once in the Crusaders 85-57 win in American Southwest Conference play Saturday.    

Despite the loss, Ozarks still holds steady the final playoff spot with a 6-13 conference record. The Lady Eagles are ahead of East Texas Baptist (5-13) and LeTourneau (5-13).  Ozarks does hold the tie-breaker over East Texas Baptist. The Lady Eagles and LeTourneau split during the season. Ozarks will host Louisiana College February 19 in its final regular season game.

Against Mary Hardin-Baylor, the Lady Eagles scored on the opening possession, but that would be the only lead they would have in the entire game. Ozarks (10-14, 6-13 ASC) would score just six more points over the next ten minutes, while Mary Hardin-Baylor (12-11, 8-10 ASC) posted 22 points during that stretch. The Lady Eagles trailed 37-24 at the half. Ashley Hipps hit 5-of-8 from the floor and scored 12 points in the first half. Ozarks never cut the deficit under ten points in the second half.

Hipps finished with 17 points, while Jordana Andrews had 12.
