No. 25 Texas Dallas Women Fight Off Ozarks

Clarksville, Ark.-No. 25 Texas Dallas answered each Ozarks run and pulled out a hard fought 67-57 win over the Eagles Saturday in their American Southwest Conference opener.

Both teams shot only 31 percent from the field in the game. Texas Dallas (5-1, 1-0 ASC) did own an advantage at the free throw line hitting 75 percent of its attempts, while Ozarks (3-2, 0-1 ASC) hit 59 percent. Texas Dallas led 34-25 at the half, but Ozarks fought back in the third quarter to within 39-34. Ashley Hipps opened the run with a layup and Bryanna Moltz drilled a three-pointer. Tyler Adams and Madison Sherrer made back-to-back buckets to pull Ozarks within five points. However, Texas Dallas ended the third quarter with a 48-40 advantage. Ozarks opened the fourth quarter with a 4-0 run to pull within four points, but that would be as close as the Eagles could get. Texas Dallas answered with a 10-2 run to take control of the game late.
    
Moltz led Ozarks with 17 points and six blocks. Hipps scored 11 points.

Ozarks will host Sul Ross State January 2.
