Ozarks Women Fall In Overtime

Richardson, Texas-The women's basketball team stormed back in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime only to have Texas Dallas outscore the Eagles 14-8 in extra time to suffer a 80-74 loss Monday night in American Southwest Conference play.

Ozarks (8-9, 2-8 ASC) trailed 52-41 after the third quarter, but caught fire from the three-point line in the fourth quarter. Ashley Hipps hit five from long-range, while Macie Kultgen hit two. Texas Dallas (12-7, 5-5 ASC) led 57-44 with 8:45 left in the fourth before Hipps hit a pair of three-pointers and Anisha Johnson made two free throws to trim it to 60-52. Hipps and Kultgen later drilled shots from beyond the arc, and Bryanna Moltz followed with a jump shot to pull Ozarks within 64-60. Texas Dallas countered with a basket to extend its lead to 66-60 with 2:20 remaining. But Hipps and Kultgen hit back-to-back three-pointers to even the contest 66-66 at the 1:48 mark. Neither team was able to score the remainder of the quarter. Ozarks owned a 73-71 advantage with 2:19 left in overtime on Kultgen's three-pointer, but that would be final lead for Ozarks. The Comets then went on a 9-1 run to close out the game.

Hipps ended the game with 24 points and Kultgen had 15.

Ozarks will host Belhaven University February 4.
