Women's Basketball Team Wins Fourth Game In Last Five Tries

Clarksville, Ark.-The women's basketball team hung on for a 65-63 win over Belhaven University Thursday night to win its fourth game in its last five tries.

Ashley Hipps drilled three three-pointers in the first half to give Ozarks (9-9) a narrow 28-26 halftime advantage. In the fourth quarter, Ozarks led 65-58 late, but Belhaven (6-14) made things interesting by getting the last shot. With .4 seconds left, the Blazers heaved a pass that went inside the paint which was tipped towards the goal by Kyra Washington. Washington's attempt was short, helping Ozarks secure the game. Hipps hit a jump shot, Bryanna Moltz nailed a three-pointer and Tyler Adams made a shot to open the fourth quarter and extend Ozarks' lead to 51-41. Ozarks hit 33 percent from the field in the second half, but Belhaven only hit 27 percent.
    
Hipps finished with 20 points. Moltz posted a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Ozarks will travel to Austin, Texas, to face Concordia University Texas February 8.
