Women’s Basketball Team Posts 67-53 Win

Colorado Springs, Colo.-The women's basketball team posted a 67-53 win over Colorado College in the Rocky Mountain Thanksgiving Classic Saturday.

Ozarks (3-3) led 22-19 after the first quarter and gave up the lead only briefly in the third quarter. The Eagles had a strong fourth quarter, hitting 57 percent from the field and scoring 20 points. Ozarks limited Colorado College (1-4) to 11 percent shooting from the floor in the final quarter. The guard combination of Hailey Ostrander and Anisha Johnson combined to score 13 points in the quarter. Ozarks extended its lead to double-digits with 4:15 remaining in the game on Ostrander's three-pointer. Delanei Stephens had a dominating first quarter scoring 10 points on 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Stephens also pulled down eight rebounds in the first quarter.

Stephens led Ozarks with a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Ostrander, who hit three three-pointers, and Johnson scored 13 points apiece.

Ozarks will host University of Mary Hardin-Baylor November 29 in its first conference game of the season.
