Texas-Tyler Rolls To Victory Over Women’s Basketball Team

Tyler, Texas-The Texas-Tyler Patriots overcame a 21-13 first quarter deficit to secure a 86-56 win over the University of the Ozarks women's basketball team Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.

Hailey Ostrander fueled the first quarter for Ozarks (7-9, 3-6 ASC) hitting five field goals, including a pair of three-pointers, to score 12 points. The Patriots (12-5, 6-4 ASC) fought back in the second quarter and eventually took the lead for good at the 3:20 mark. After Ozarks closed the gap to 30-29 with 1:12 remaining in the half, the Patriots finished the second quarter on a 5-0 run to gain momentum. Texas-Tyler then opened the third quarter on a 7-0 run to cruise to a win.

Ozarks shot 28 percent from the field in the game. Ostrander finished with 17 points. No other Eagle scored in double figures.

Ozarks will host Louisiana College January 19.
