THE BASICS
Concordia University Texas came back from a nine-point deficit in the third quarter to post a 63-54 win over the Eagles Sunday afternoon in conference play. Ozarks built a 28-27 halftime lead and then added on as Destinee Manning, Hailey Ostrander and Anisha Johnson put points on the board to push the advantage to nine points at the 5:16 mark in the third quarter. However, Concordia went on a run of its own to pull within one point at the end of the quarter. The Tornados then scored the opening basket of the fourth quarter and trailed only once after that. The Eagles outshot the visitors from the field (37% to 32%), but the Tornados hit 25-of-27 (92%) from the free throw line. Diamond Goodwyn finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds for Ozarks.
