THE BASICS
The Eagles captured their first win of the season with a strong defensive performance. The Eagles forced Fontbonne into 24 turnovers in the game and scored 20 points off those miscues. The Eagles owned a 15-7 lead after the first quarter. After the half, the Eagles stormed out to a 33-24 advantage behind back-to-back three-pointers from Kamryn McKinney and Fontbonne had trouble recovering the rest of the game. Hailey Ostrander made a layup late in the third quarter to give the Eagles a 43-28 lead. The Eagles out scored the Griffins 16-9 in the third quarter alone. Ostrander paced the Eagles with 20 points. The win gave head coach Kourtni Williams her first as a head coach.
