THE BASICS
Looking to bounce back from a 89-42 drumming at the hands of UT-Dallas on Saturday, the Eagles hosted a tough UT-Tyler squad. Ozarks jumped out to a 18-16 lead after the first frame, and enjoyed a 39-32 advantage at the half. The edge could be, in large part, attributed to the Eagles success from beyond the arc and UT-Tyler's lack thereof. The Patriots misfired on all six of their attempts from three in the first half, while Ozarks managed to connect of eight of their fifteen tries. A hard fought second half and strong bench scoring, allowed the Patriots to get back in the game and even lead in the final minute. However, a crucial layup with less than 40 seconds to play by senior guard Savannah Kate Smith allowed the Eagles to take the lead for good. Solid late game management helped Ozarks finish the game off and secure the win, 75-72.
