Posted a 30-5 overall record. Recorded 46 dual points and 15 falls. Qualified for the NCAA III National Championships after placing third at the NCAA III Regional. Won by decision over Michael Triplett from Loras College (Dec 9-8) in NCAA III Regional to advance to Nationals. Won the Southeast Wrestling Conference Championship. Won 125-pound division at Missouri Valley Open, the Richland College Southwest Scuffle and the Ouachita Baptist Hatcher Open. Named Most Outstanding Wrestler at Ouachita Baptist Hatcher Open. Won by fall over David Lawson (2:10) from Arkansas Baptist. In the Richland College Southwest Scuffle, defeated Tony Vo of University of Texas (TF 18-1, 3:18), had a win over Trevor Compton from Ottawa University (F 1:03), posted a win against Nickolas Ornelas from Neosho County Community College (F 2:51) to advance to the championship match and then took down Noah Martinez from Ottawa University (F 4:39) to win the Richland College Southwest Scuffle. Posted two wins in the NWA Duals and Central College Under Armour Invitational. Won by Tech Fall 17-2, 5:54 against Drury. Defeated Bacone (Fall, 2:10). Defeated Jay Branch of Williams Baptist (TF 15-0) and then topped Dustin Miller of Lyon College (Maj 13-3) to advance to the finals and then won over teammate Devon Jackson (Dec 8-7) to take the Missouri Valley Open title. Rankin won by fall over Brett Binnix from Ferrum College and won by fall over Gabriel Wilson from Greensboro to advance to the championship match and then won by injury default over Zachary Beckner from Ferrum College to capture Southeast Conference title. Named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Team. Voted the University's Male Athlete of the Year.
