ON THE MAT
The Eagles opened the 2018-19 season with a 24-16 win over Lyon College Thursday night in Batesville. After trailing 6-5 at the end of the first period, Corey Muniz (125) eventually took the lead in the second and went on to win, 10-6. Si Nhamnhouane (141) needed to make a push as he fell behind 4-3 after the first period. Nhamnhouane went to work and shutout his opponent the remaining two periods, earning Nhamnhouane a 7-4 victory by decision. Ny'Trell Dean (149) scored six points after he pinned his opponent at the 4:28 mark of the second period. Alejandro Ordonez (197) pinned his opponent in the first to pick up six points for the Eagles. Ordonez's pin secured the victory for the Eagles.
