ON THE MAT
The Eagles finished third at the Hatcher Invitational Saturday in Arkadelphia. Corey Muniz (125), Durrell Thompson (133), Ny'Trell Dean (149) and Jerhett Lee (285) all posted undefeated records at the event. Muniz went 3-0 with a victory over teammate Nathaneal Rankin (MD 16-7) in the finals. Rankin placed second in the 125-pound class. Thompson had a 1-0 record with a win over teammate Stephen Fox (Dec 4-3). Dean posted a 2-0 record with a win (Fall 1:53) over Carlos Cuevas from Lyon College to place first. Lee went 3-0 and had a win over teammate Cameron Oliver (Fall 0:47) to claim first place. Oliver would finish second. Freshman Ndayambaje John also had a strong showing placing second in the 174-pound division. Kade McMahon was second in the 165-pound class. Muniz was named the Outstanding Wrestler at the event.
