Brittanie Gragg’s Hat Trick Leads Ozarks To Overtime Win

Elsah, Ill.-The women's soccer team exploded for five goals behind Brittanie Gragg's hat trick in a 5-4 win over Principia College Saturday and CJ Burns scored on a penalty kick in overtime to secure the win.

Principia (0-4-0) scored first in the match with a goal in the 7th minute. Ozarks (2-3-0) responded with a goal from Gragg in the 10th minute to even the score. Gragg then scored back-to-back goals in the first half to give Ozarks a 3-1 halftime advantage. Tristan Sanchez scored in the 57th minute to put Ozarks in front 4-1. But Principia scored three straight goals within an 11-minute span to tie the match. Principia's final goal came with less than two minutes remaining in the match. In overtime, Ozarks was awarded a penalty kick on a hand ball and Burns connected on it to send Ozarks to its second victory of the season. Gragg had four shots to lead Ozarks.

Ozarks will open American Southwest Conference play September 16 against McMurry University in Texas.
