THE BASICS
Senior forward Madison Chaney spearheaded an outstanding win Thursday over Concordia University Texas by recording a hat trick. The Eagles trailed 1-0 at halftime, but Chaney provided an offensive punch to push the home team to a 3-1 conference win. Chaney and the Eagles turned up the pressure in the second half and generated three goals. Chaney's first score came in the 49th minute on an assist from Angelica Najera. Chaney raced down field and chipped it over goalkeeper Shelby Franco's head to even the score. Chaney's second goal was nearly identical as she chipped it again over Franco's head in the 58th minute. CJ Burns received the assist. With momentum in the Eagles' favor, Chaney blasted another goal in the 84th to secure the match and record the hat trick. In all, Chaney had four shots.
