Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks women's soccer team had six players receive All-Conference honors from the American Southwest Conference, it was announced Monday, November 11.
Junior defender Joey Long was named to the All-ASC Second Team. Junior forward Skylar Brown was named to the All-ASC Third Team. Senior forward Madison Chaney, freshman midfielder Gisselle Estrada, freshman midfielder Kailey Barnes and senior goalkeeper Kiara Henry were named to the All-ASC Honorable Mention Team.
Long, a native of Cabot, Ark., was a defensive standout for the Eagles starting in 16 matches. In her time on the pitch, the Eagles had three shutouts. She earned All-Conference honors her freshman and sophomore season.
Brown, a native of Maumelle, Ark., started in 17 matches and finished second on the team with four goals and ten points. Brown recorded two assists and 23 shots. She had a two-goal performance against Ecclesia College and a five-shot effort against Louisiana College.
Chaney, a native of Cape Girardeau, Mo., started in 16 matches and scored two goals and recorded two assists. Her six points ranked fourth on the team. Chaney produced five shots and scored a goal against Sul Ross State. She ends her career as a two-time All-Conference performer and finishes with ten career goals and 22 career points.
Estrada, a native of Springdale, Ark., had one of the top freshman campaigns in school history. She ranked sixth in the ASC in points (23), fourth in goals (9) and fifth in assists (5). Estrada led the team in all the aforementioned categories and game-winning goals with three. She took 31 shots and made both of her penalty kick attempts. Estrada had a pair of two-goal performances during the season and had five points against Lyon College. She took a season-high five shots against Ecclesia. Against Howard Payne, she had the game-winning goal in a big 1-0 road win. She created two or more shots in nine different matches.
Barnes, a native of Roanoke, Texas, started in 16 matches for the Eagles. Barnes took 14 shots during the season and scored one goal. Her goal came against Williams Baptist where she had four shots.
Henry, a native of Rogers, Ark., received her fourth All-Conference award of her career. Henry will go down in program history owning nearly every goalkeeping record at Ozarks. This season, she owned a 1.20 goals against average and recorded 109 saves in 1501 minutes in goal. Henry posted four shutouts. She had 14 saves in a 2-2 tie against Hendrix College and posted a shutout in 110 minutes of action against Fontbonne. She will finish as the program's all-time leader in goals against average (1.49), shutouts (12), goalie games played (67) and minutes played (5788:45). She is second all-time with 373 saves.
