HOW IT HAPPENED
The Eagles had a strong offensive performance with 27 shots and 13 corner kicks only to have Lyon College come away with a 2-1 win Wednesday night in Batesville. The Eagles created ten shots in the first half, but it was Lyon that scored a goal in the 11th minute. The Eagles flourished again in the second half, but Lyon would be the team to score a goal first. Lyon went ahead 2-0 when it scored in the 50th minute. Behind 17 second half shots, the Eagles got a goal in the 78th minute from Kaitlyn McMahan. The Eagles forced the Lyon goalkeeper into ten second half saves. The Eagles were seemingly on the attack the entire half but couldn't net the game-tying goal. In all, the Eagles had 17 shots on goal.
